Cassandra is horrified when her beloved literature teacher Sarah Beecham is accused of teaching pornographic and subversive material in class, and forced to stand down despite her determination to continue.

Cassandra herself is soon caught up in war-god Ares’ sinister use of the media to provide nuclear capability and weapons to poor Arab states, intending to bring about a Doomsday war of all against all.
